Find Your Place to Breathe Deeply

Even in this windowless room, stillness and warmth quietly pour in.
Gazing at a forest mural from the shelter of a cave, you feel your tension melt away.
This is more than a treatment room—it is a place to pause, reclaim your breath, and simply be.

Te Taira: A Space to Reclaim Your Breath

We turned the absence of windows to our advantage, creating the feeling of “looking out at a forest from inside a cave.”
A mural inspired by that very image spreads across the treatment-room wall.
The NOREN curtain comes from Katsuyama in Okayama, Japan.
Each panel of natural fabric is carefully chosen and dyed in layers of seasonal hues.
Everything you see and touch is here for one purpose—to help you feel completely at ease.

AcupuncturistThe Art of Comfort in Care

Hello, I'm Daisuke, the acupuncturist at Te Taira.

The word “treatment” can mean many things. To me, it’s about helping someone return to their natural rhythm.

Acupuncture and moxibustion are simply gentle tools—the true work is done by your body’s own innate wisdom.

Rather than doing something dramatic,I believe in quietly listening to the body, supporting the breath, and offering just enough stimulation to encourage healing. This simple, intentional practice is something I return to each day.

I trained in acupuncture in Japan, and after walking a few different paths,I now practice here in Queenstown.

For me, treatment doesn’t begin with technique—it begins with creating a space where the body can feel safe, and where healing can unfold naturally.

At Te Taira Japanese Acupuncture, you can receive consultation and treatment from me, Daisuke Hiratsuka, a CMCNZ-registered practitioner of Acupuncture and Moxibustion here in Queenstown.
As an ACC-registered acupuncturist as well, I can also support you with treatments that may be covered if your injury is accident-related—so you can simply focus on your healing.
